There is a regular Mindfulness Meditation session lasting about an hour and led by members of the group. This takes place usually every second and fourth Friday in the month starting at 10.30 a.m. Contact Elaine on 07769 678363 for more information.
Through the combined practice of mindfulness and meditation, we discover how our mind works – how conditioning controls our choices and behaviour. Research has found that meditation promotes positive mental attitudes resulting in improved awareness, focus, and memory as well as many other health benefits.
On the second Tuesday of each month we have a social session of carpet bowls to which all are welcome. Experience and/or skill are less important on this happy occasion than a willingness to participate and to eat some cake! There is a nominal charge of £1 per person.
A group who call themselves the IWs (or Independent Women) meet on the first Monday morning of the month.
Other Chapel activities are less regular but include concerts and recitals, talks and discussions as well as barbecues in our lovely garden.
During the week the Chapel is hired by a variety of groups for rehearsals and fitness classes etc. It is a flexible open space, warm and well lit, with piano and seating for 24 in situ plus another 36 folding chairs immediately available on a trolley. More stacking chairs are at hand too for our maximum capacity of 100 people. There are full kitchen and toilet facilities – and a beautiful garden at the rear.
